What began as quick sketches for colleagues at work grew into a full-scale artistic endeavor for New York-based artist Darren Hinton. Using office supplies such as Wite-Out, Sharpies, and highlighters, Darren creates one-of-a-kind drawings exclusively on Post-it notes. As the project evolved, Darren continued to push the creativity of items not often associated with the art world, even hand-making frames from plastic report cover bindings. “I like the challenges that a self-imposed restriction of materials creates,” says Hinton, “and using such mundane materials to create something unique and beautiful pushes me as an artist.”
The series includes everything from still-life and animals to portraits, each drawing full of dimension, detail, and imagination. View more of Darren’s work and purchase or commission your own drawing HERE.
