The Angle on Eric Hason, Photographer

SPECIALIZE IN:  Fashion and Beauty Photography

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS: Generous, Humble, Badass.

TAKE US THROUGH YOUR TYPICAL DAY: When I’m shooting I am on set early, having fun, and getting the job done. If I am not shooting I start the day in Prospect Park with my vizsla during off-leash hours. Then, I brew my second pot of coffee (I am addicted to Porto Rico Pete’s Blend) and start the freelance shuffle – a combination of production, post-production, meetings, emails, phone calls, computer work, etc. And somewhere in there I squeeze in the gym, procrastinating, and daydreaming.

WHAT’S YOUR CREATIVE SPACE LIKE: Wide open!

WHOSE WORK IN YOUR FIELD DO YOU MOST ADMIRE: Richard Burbridge, Tim Walker, Steven Klein, Juergen Teller, Chadwick Tyler, Steven Meisel, Nick Knight…

INSPIRATIONS OUTSIDE OF YOUR DISCIPLINE: MoMA PS1 and the families I photograph as the Flashes of Hope NYC Chapter Director.

FAVORITE PLACE: Coney Island, west of the fishing pier.

GUILTY PLEASURE: Chocolate, and early J. Geils Band.

IF YOU COULD SHARE A MEAL OR A DRINK WITH ANYONE IN HISTORY, DEAD OR ALIVE, WHO WOULD IT BE: Keith Moon

DREAM TRAVEL DESTINATION: I’ve hosted six foreign exchange students, each for an entire school year, so I would love to rent a compound on Fire Island and have a reunion with the students and their families.

ACUTE OR OBTUSE: Right (almost always).

SURPRISE US: I bowled a 196 against Roman Oben (offensive tackle, NY Giants). It was the pinnacle of my athletic career.
